Scottdale does not announce itself. It is an unincorporated community tucked between Decatur and Clarkston, known to most of metro Atlanta as the home of Your DeKalb Farmers Market — and to its residents as a place of modest, hardworking homes. The bungalows and small ranches here were built for function, and their bathrooms usually need the same honest treatment: no wasted money, no fragile finishes, just a room that works and looks good doing it.
Full Bathroom Remodels on a Real-World Budget in Scottdale
A full bathroom remodel in Scottdale is about spending money where it counts. We start with what is behind the walls, because a modest home deserves solid bones more than anyone. Old supply lines get replaced. The electrical gets brought up to code. Wet areas get proper waterproofing and cement board instead of plain drywall that will fail in five years. Then we finish with materials chosen for durability per dollar: quality porcelain tile, a solid vanity that is not particle board, fixtures from manufacturers that will still make parts in a decade. This is how a bathroom remodeler in GA earns trust in a neighborhood like Scottdale — by building the parts you cannot see as carefully as the parts you can.
The custom tile shower follows the same logic. A well-built shower is mostly invisible engineering: a sloped pan that drains completely, a bonded waterproof membrane, corners sealed before tile ever goes up. On top of that engineering, you get to choose the look — and porcelain tile today gives you the appearance of stone or handmade ceramic without the maintenance or the price. We add a niche for bottles, and if there is room, a bench. It is a shower that will look the same in year ten as it does in year one, because the structure underneath is right.
Custom Tile Showers Without the Luxury Markup
Small bathrooms are the norm in Scottdale's housing stock, and they are where smart design pays for itself. A compact hall bath gets a space-saving vanity, a larger mirror to bounce light, and tile carried up the walls to make the room feel taller. Powder rooms get the same treatment on a smaller scale — and because the room is tiny, a slightly nicer tile or a real sconce light costs very little extra while changing the whole impression.
Small Bathrooms That Punch Above Their Size
The tub to shower conversion is a practical favorite here. When the only tub in the house goes unused, converting it to a walk-in shower with a low threshold gives the household a safer, more useful bathroom without expanding the footprint. We keep the plumbing sensible, waterproof everything, and finish it clean.
