Why demolition is a skill, not a swing of a hammer

Good demolition is controlled. It takes out what has to go, protects what has to stay and keeps the framing, the floor and the plumbing intact wherever they can be saved. It also creates the moment of truth: the first time anyone sees what the tub and tile were hiding.

Because the same crew that tears out the old bathroom also plumbs, waterproofs and tiles the new one, the demolition is done for the rebuild — not just for the dumpster.

That goes for more than bathrooms. We are a general demolition crew: decks, kitchen cabinets, flooring and more come down the same careful way, with a plan for what goes back in.

What we take down, in bathrooms and beyond

01

Tubs & showers

Removing the old tub, surround and shower, including heavy cast iron.

02

Tile

Wall and floor tile taken off cleanly, down to a surface we can build on.

03

Fixtures

Vanities, toilets, mirrors and accessories removed and protected or set aside.

04

Walls & flooring

Drywall, backer and flooring removed where the new layout needs it.

05

Selective demo

Only the parts that need to go — for a shower-only or tub-only project.

06

Full gut

Down to the studs for a complete remodel, ready for new framing and plumbing.

07

Decks & outdoor structures

Old or failing decks taken down safely, with the yard and house protected.

09

Floors of any kind

Tile, hardwood, vinyl and carpet pulled up, down to a subfloor we can repair and build on.

How demolition goes

  1. Walkthrough

We look at the room and the route through your home, and plan what to protect.

  2. Protect and prep

The work area is sealed off, floors are covered and the site is set up to stay clean.

  3. Take it down

Controlled removal, working from the finishes toward the framing.

  4. Inspect and plan

Once it is open we look at the framing, the subfloor and the plumbing, and tell you what we found.

Once the tub or tile is out, we finally see everything it was hiding. If we find damage or anything suspect — old flooring or tile adhesive in an older home, for example — we stop and talk with you before going further.

While we’re in there

Once a room is open, it is the easiest moment to handle the rest. Replace the vanity, toilet and supply lines, repair a soft subfloor, lay new flooring or waterproof the shower, all with the same crew and no outside companies to coordinate. Tell Pine what you have been putting off and he will tell you what makes sense to do together.

Questions, answered honestly

Can we live in the house during demolition?

Yes. We seal off the work area, keep the site clean, protect your floors and show up when we say we will.

What if you find water damage behind the tile?

We show you what we found and explain what it means for the project before anything else happens. Repairing it right is part of building the new bathroom right.

Is this only for bathrooms?

No. We also do general demolition of decks, kitchen cabinets, flooring and more. Most of our demolition happens in bathrooms because the same crew then rebuilds them, but tell Pine what you have in mind at the consultation.

Do you only do demolition?

Demolition is usually the first phase of a remodel. If demolition is all you need, tell Pine at the consultation and he will tell you how he can help.

How long does it take?

Pine confirms your timeline in writing at the consultation.

What about debris and cleanup?

We keep the site clean while we work. Pine covers how debris is handled for your job at the consultation.

How is it priced?

Pine handles all pricing personally at the consultation — he’ll take great care of you.
