What a shower valve and shower body actually are
The valve is the part behind the wall that mixes hot and cold and controls the flow. The handle you touch is only the trim. A shower body is the valve plus the plumbing that sends water to each outlet: a rain head, a handheld on a slide bar, body sprays, a tub spout.
Because the valve sits inside the wall, it has to be set to the depth of the finished surface — tile thickness included — before the wall is closed. Set a few millimeters off and the trim never sits right. That is why valve work is planned, not improvised.
What we install
Pressure-balance valves
Keep the temperature steady when a toilet flushes or a faucet opens elsewhere in the house.
Thermostatic valves
Set an exact temperature and run several outlets at once, for the shower you build around.
Multi-outlet shower bodies
Rain head, handheld, body sprays and diverters, planned around your layout.
Valve replacement
Swapping an old or failing valve, from behind the wall when we can or by opening the shower when we must.
Tub-and-shower valves
Combination valves and tub fillers for bath-and-shower layouts.
Trim & fixtures
Your finish, matched to the valve series and set cleanly against the tile.
How a valve job goes
-
Choose your outlets
Tell us how you shower — one head or several, a handheld, a bench — and we size the valve to it.
-
Rough in at the right depth
The valve is set for the finished wall, and the supply lines are routed and checked while the wall is open.
-
Seal, then tile
Every penetration is waterproofed before a tile is set. The valve is where showers fail when this is skipped.
-
Trim out and run it
Trim goes on, the water runs, and we check every outlet before we leave.
Buying your own fixtures? Send us the model before you order. Trim only fits the valve series it was made for, and matching them up front saves a return and a delay.
While we’re in there
With the wall open for the valve, the supply lines are easy to reach. Renew worn lines, swap the vanity and toilet, repair a soft subfloor or lay new flooring while the room is empty. The same crew waterproofs and tiles the shower, so nobody else has to be brought in. Tell Pine what you have been putting off.

Questions, answered honestly
What is the difference between pressure-balance and thermostatic?
A pressure-balance valve holds temperature steady when water pressure changes. A thermostatic valve lets you dial in an exact temperature and usually runs more outlets at once. We help you choose based on how you actually shower.
How many outlets can one valve run?
It depends on the valve and your supply. We size it to your layout at the consultation, so you do not end up with a rain head that trickles.
Can you replace a valve without redoing my tile?
Sometimes, when there is access from behind the wall. Often the wall has to be opened at the valve. We tell you honestly which one you have before any work begins.
Can I buy my own fixtures?
Yes. Send us the model first so the trim, valve and rough-in all match.
How long does it take?
Pine confirms your timeline in writing at the consultation. Most shower builds run 2–3 weeks once work begins.
