Homes and Bathrooms in Pickens County

Pickens has older homes around the Jasper square, newer houses in the surrounding hills and many mountain-area second homes and retirement homes. In houses that are 20 or more years old, the original bathrooms are often due for replacement. A tiled walk-in shower is a natural fit for a house that will be used for many years.

Shower Remodel and Walk-In Shower Installation in Pickens County

Shower remodels and walk-in showers are the heart of what we do in Pickens County. We build the shower from the base up: a sloped base that drains, a waterproof membrane across the walls and floor, sealed corners and niches, and then the tile, the bench, the glass and the fixtures you choose. Behind the tile is where a shower succeeds or fails, and that is where we spend the most care.

Tub-to-Shower Conversion and Aging-in-Place Bathrooms in Pickens County

Many Pickens County owners have lived in their homes a long time, and the usual request is a safe, easy-entry shower with good lighting.

A tub-to-shower conversion gives you a surface to step onto instead of over. In Pickens County homes, we do these in guest baths, hall baths and primary baths, in tile or in a surround, depending on what suits the house and the budget. Pine measures at the consultation and tells you what is practical.

Custom Tile Showers and Full Bathroom Renovation

For a bigger project, a full bathroom renovation plans the shower, the vanity, the floor, the lighting and the fan together, so the finished room works as a whole. Custom tile gives you choices a prefabricated surround does not: tile size, pattern, color, trim, a bench and a niche exactly where you want them. You can see ideas in our completed work and try your own design in the Shower Builder.

How the Work Goes in Pickens County

Here is how a project goes in Pickens County. First, a free in-home consultation, where Pine looks at the room and listens to what you want. Next, a written quote with the exact number. Then the build, which for most showers takes 2–3 weeks once work begins. The same crew who start the job finish it, and you walk through the finished room with Pine at the end.

Your house stays protected: floor covering along the path to the bathroom, a contained work area and daily haul-away of debris. If it is your only full bath, we plan around that at the consultation. Because tile and waterproofing need time to cure between steps, we explain the sequence in advance so there are no guesses.
