Book-matching mirrors a slab’s veining across a center seam, like the pages of an open book. A butterfly book-match mirrors left and right so the veins meet in a symmetrical, wing-like shape.
The feel: Unified and luxurious, as if the wall were quarried from a single piece of stone.

Where Book-Match works best
- Giant porcelain sheets and XL slabs
- A back wall that carries the veining around the corners
- Large-format tile in a veined pattern, as a smaller version of the idea
- Feature panels and niche backs
What we like and what to know
What we like
- Symmetrical veining that looks custom
- Few joints, so the wall reads as one surface
- The niche can be cut from the same slab so the veining flows into it
What to know
- The slab needs to be planned and laid out before cutting
- Book-match works best where the veining is large and clear

Yes. In the Shower Builder you can apply the book-match option to large-format porcelain tile too, for a similar mirrored effect at a smaller scale.
Where is book-match not available?
In the Shower Builder, the book-matched slab floor is available for every shower except a tub or a PVC base.
