How we install it

We dry-lay the checkerboard from the center of the room so the border cuts match on both sides, and keep the joint width the same in both directions.

Questions about this design

Can a checkerboard layout go on a diagonal?

Yes. Set on the diagonal, it reads as a diamond pattern. It adds cutting and waste, which we plan for.

Which colors work best?

High contrast, such as black and white, is the classic. Two close tones of one color make a softer, more modern version.
